Homes and roofs in Bromley

Bromley is a borough of family homes, and a roofer in Bromley works mostly on detached and semi-detached houses with hipped tiled roofs, bay windows, porches and extensions, along with Victorian and Edwardian houses nearer the town centre and flats above the shops on the High Street.

Common roof problems in Bromley

On the hipped roofs that are so common here, the hip and ridge tiles and their mortar are frequent trouble spots, along with the lead on bays and porches. Large houses with long eaves runs need sound fascias and gutters to keep water off the walls, and many have flat-roofed extensions and garages that need their coverings renewed.

Primefix Roofing in Bromley

Primefix Roofing & Guttering Ltd offers free site surveys and quotes in Bromley for roof repairs, new roofs, fascias and soffits, guttering and flat roofs. Our team is fully insured and qualified, we use quality materials and our workmanship is guaranteed.

Hipped roofs and their ridges

Hipped roofs have more ridge and hip lines than a simple gable, and every one relies on sound fixings to stay in place. Cracked mortar lets tiles loosen and water in. We rebed or mechanically fix hips and ridges and replace broken tiles, as part of our roof repairs across Bromley.

Re-roofing family homes

Many Bromley houses are reaching the point where a full re-roof makes sense. We strip the old covering, carry out structural checks, fit new membrane and battens and lay new tiles with fresh ridges, hips and lead. Our new roof page sets out each stage.

Flat roofs on Bromley extensions and garages

Bromley houses often have flat roofs over garages, side extensions and rear kitchens, and many of these coverings are tired. Splits, blisters and ponding water lead to damp inside, and a rotten deck can follow if the leak is left. We repair or replace these roofs with rubber, felt or fibreglass systems, checking the deck and improving the fall where needed. See our flat roof page for how we approach each job and what is included in your quote.

Chimneys on Bromley houses

Plenty of Bromley houses still carry their original chimney stacks, often no longer in use. Open joints, cracked flaunching and tired lead let water into chimney breasts and lofts. We repoint, renew the lead and cap redundant flues so the stack keeps the weather out. Our chimney repairs page covers the work in detail.
